Can my Guinea Pig eat Asparagus?
Updated: May 2
No, this is not recommended.
While asparagus is a nutritious food, it is higher in carbohydrates and may cause bloat or enterotoxemia.
While asparagus is great for us, it is high in carbohydates for a vegetable, and may contribute to digestive discomfort. We don't recommend feeding this.
Guinea pigs and rabbits should have a variety of at least 5 different types of leafy greens to protect against nutritional excesses and deficiencies. At least 80% of the diet should be a good quality grass or cereal hay.
